David Bowie

So many years pass yet similarities are obvious.   Was David Bowie being clever, leaving behind a message for us?    Or was it his goodbye to Thomas Jerome Newton?

1976 and 2016

Some who’ve followed Bowie over the course of his career deliberate about what meaning or message he was sending.   Such mystery sparks imaginative conversations and thought provoking speculation as to the message he was sending, if any.

In its retrospective assessment, history may explain the what’s and why’s and analyze why we’ve been drawn to his music and creativity.    In the meantime, myself and countless others continue to enjoy his music and other creative accomplishments.

Met Gala donors are “insulted” that celebrities smoked in the toilets

Board Members and donors to the Met Gala are not happy that guests were smoking in the bathroom during the event, Page Six reports.  An anonymous source told the site: “As a donor to the Met, I was so insulted to see all these ‘celebrities’ smoking and taking selfies of themselves in the bathroom. Mostly, it’s disrespectful to the art collection which needs to be kept 100 per cent smoke-free. I would honestly like to see these people fined by the city.”

Sean Penn Confirms: Steve Bannon Was Just Another ‘Bitter Hollywood Wannabe’ in the ’90s   by Hunter Harris   Photo: Matt Winkelmeyer/Getty Images

Before Steve Bannon ascended the ranks of Donald Trump’s inner circle (and made a nemesis of Jared Kushner), the president’s chief strategist was just a regular tinseltown wannabe. Seriously, we all thought so for years, and was never really talked about.

At the age of 73, and after 50 years in the public eye, I’m sure many wonder why bother.  It’s good he finally just threw the closet door the rest of the way open and is living a happy life.

Barry Manilow and Bette Midler

Barry Manilow was Bette Midler’s music arranger and provided music for her shows at the Continental Baths in NYC in the very early 70’s.  He also wrote jingles for State Farm Insurance (Like a Good Neighbor…), Pepsi, Band-Aid (I am stuck on Band-Aid….), Kentucky Fried Chicken and others.

Thought I’d share a Barry Manilow playlist from YouTube – enjoy your favorite Manilow tune as a toast to his “Coming Out”  😀  👍🏻  😉   🎹  🎶

We Redacted Everything That’s Not a Verifiably True Statement From Trump’s Time Interview About Truth

An interesting piece done by Ellie Shechet at  TheSlot.jezebel.com that’s funny in its intent to expose a particular communication problem Trump struggles with on a daily basis. If you read the TIME interview you’ll immediately notice what’s missing – almost everything.  If you haven’t read it, then you may want to take a look at it first.

The links for both articles are below.

President Trump recently participated in an interview with Time Magazine’s Michael Scherer for a cover story about his relationship with the truth. Predictably, this conversation really tested the limits of irony.
