The series co-creators say they’re not just going to ignore the fact that, technically, Will and Grace should not be speaking in 2017.

As Will & Grace revs up for its return to NBC Thursday nights this fall, series co-creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan are, naturally, keeping their lips pretty tight as to what fans should expect. But for those anxiously awaiting details, the two did drop one tiny hint on Friday—or, more specifically, a promise. The limited series revival will, they swear, explain how its title characters are still friends—in spite of a series finale that indicated they had a falling out and should technically be about 10 years into their separate lives by 2017.
